EEDC calls for safety in the holiday season
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has called for safety among its customers in the yuletide season.
The electricity distribution company said the wellbeing of its numerous customers are important hence the rationale behind the call.
“We are concerned about the wellbeing of our customers and feel that at this festive period, there is need to advise them to stay safe and exercise care, especially as we have moved into the dry season,” EEDC said in a statement.
While wishing the customers a happy and memorable Christmas and New Year celebration the company also advised them to avoid unsafe acts that can result to electrical accident or fire outbreak, most of which are attributed to carelessness and indiscriminate bush burning.
“We have put measures in place to efficiently distribute our energy allocation and ensure that our customers enjoy good supply during the holiday period. We embarked on massive trace clearing of our network to ensure supply is not interrupted.
“In addition, out of over 500 transformers approved by Management of EEDC to be commissioned before the end of January, 2018, over 80 have been deployed and commissioned in various locations within the South East,” the statement further said.
EEDC reassured it’s customers of its continued effort in ensuring a better and enjoyable customer experience in the year 2018.
