EEDC appeals to customers over drop in power supply, gives reasons

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has appealed to its esteemed customers for understanding following the recent decline in power supply, even as it attributed the situation to inadequate gas supply to the thermal generating stations.

This development it says significantly reduced the energy allocated to EEDC, thereby affecting power availability to our customers across the network.

The power distribution company however noted in a statement that, “in view of the substantial drop in energy generation, and to maintain grid stability as well as prevent system disturbances, the Independent System Operator (ISO) is implementing load shedding across the system”.

“We assure our customers that we will continue to liaise with relevant stakeholders hoping that the gas supply constraints and generation challenge will be resolved soon”.
