
EEDC plans outage in parts of Enugu for maintainance
A planned maintenance by Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) officials will lead to a scheduled power outage in parts of Enugu, Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC), has said.
The electricity distribution company said in a statement that this will take place on 4th November, 2023.
The outage, according to EEDC is to enable the TCN engineers carry out maintenance on their T1A 150MVA Power Transformer at the New Haven Station, Enugu.
“This exercise will affect our Kingsway Line 1&2 33KV, New Haven 33KV, Government House 33KV, Independence Layout 33KV, and New NNPC 33KV feeders,” EEDC said.
“Consequently, electricity supply to our customers in parts of Emene, entire 9th Mile and sorrounding communities, New Haven, Independence Layout, Coal City garden, GRA, Golf, areas behind Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), State CID, Okpara Avenue, Station Road, Colliary, Constitution Road, Railway/Good shed, Western Avenue, Bank Avenue, Ridge Way, Club Road and Kingsway Way Road”.
Others are “Enugu Secratariate, Red Cross and Court Avenue, Abakaliki Road, Ogui Junction, Zoo Estate, Old Government Lodge, Park lane hospital, Fidelity Estate, Shoprite, Golden Royale, CBN Quarters, New Market, Works Road, Aguowa, Artisan Market, Asata, New Haven Market and environs, Ebeano Housing Estate, Agbani Road, Old UNTH and environs will be without electricity supply during the course of the maintenance”.
The east based network regretted the inconveniences this will cause its customers, but assures all that supply will be restored once the maintenance is completed.
