Customer Service Week: EEDC fetes customers

Customers of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) are in for a good time as the electricity distribution company plans to leave them with memorable experience at this year’s Customer Service Week.

The global event is usually observed annually within the first week of October.

Consequently, this year’s edition, with the theme “Building Trust” commences on the 2nd of October and will end on the 6th.

EEDC said in a statement signed by Emeka Ezeh, Head, Corporate Communication, during this period, EEDC has drawn up special programs aimed at appreciating and celebrating her customers whom they refer to as King and the main reason for its existence.

“This further goes to demonstrate and reassure EEDC’s commitment to “Customer Service” as one of its core values,” the statement said.

Acting Managing Director and Chief Finance & Administration Officer, Mr. Paul Okeke reminded staff of the critical role customers play in the success and survival of any business, and stressed on the need to endeavour to gain the confidence and trust of the customers by not only treating them as the King, but by consistently providing quality and efficient service to them.

He further charged them to be diligent, courteous in discharging their duties and also redouble their effort in ensuring they offer exceptional service to customers at all times.

“During this period, all EEDC customer service and cash offices will be decorated to create that special ambience for its customers as they visit their outlets. They will also be presented with branded gift items and treated to light refreshment while carrying out their transactions.”

Some of the activities lined up to celebrate the global event are: visit to some Maximum Demand (MD) customers; community service by staff within their area of operation, and a lucky dip where customers will be winning prizes ranging from Television, Blender, and Radio set. This the company said is a way of rewarding outstanding performance.

In her reaction, the Manager, Customer Service, EEDC, Mrs. Ijeoma Ogudebe used the occasion to appreciate customers for their support and understanding despite the challenges in the power sector. She assured them of the unrelenting effort being made in ensuring efficient service delivery to customers.

She encouraged customers to make use of the 24/7 Call Center equipped to attend to their various needs by calling 084 700 100.
