Berto rules out Alexander rematch
Boxing fans hoping to see a rematch of the Andre Berto and former 140 and 147 world champion, Devon Alexander may have their hope dashed as Berto has ruled out the possibilities.
Andre Berto (32-5, 24 KOs) defeated Alexander by a 12 round split decision last Saturday night in Uniondale, New York.
The judges had it 115-112, 115-112 for Berto, and 114-113.
“I don’t see any point in a rematch,” Berto said about a rematch with Alexander. “We’re at a point in our careers where it doesn’t make any sense to have a rematch. I’m about that cash. That’s something you’ve got to Amir [Khan],” Berto said when asked if he’d like to face Amir Khan next.
“I don’t know. We’ll see. It doesn’t matter to me. Whatever makes more sense and brings me that money, let’s make it happen,” Berto said.
