Pacquiao hands Thurman first defeat, wins WBA title
Filipino champion, Manny Pacquiao has handed former WBA Super World welterweight champion, Keith Thurman his first career defeat.
Pacquiao defeated Thurman by a 12 round split decision on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, to take the WBA crown.
According to Boxingnews24, Thurman had said before the fight that he was going to retire the 40-year-old Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs), and made fun of his arms. But, that was not to be as Pacquiao got the last laugh in beating Thurman (29-1, 21 KOs) by an impressive decision to win his WBA Super World welterweight title.
