Abuja to host British Council’s ‘Going Global Conference 2024’
The highly anticipated ‘Going Global Africa 2024‘ Regional Conference, organised by British Council will hold in Abuja, Nigeria.
The conference with the theme: “Building Sustainable and Relevant Tertiary Education Institutions and Systems in Africa”, will hold November 26 to 28, 2024, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
Among other things, the conference will explore how international partnerships can enhance tertiary education in Africa with focus on promoting thought leadership, fostering networking opportunities, encouraging stronger partnerships, and showcasing successful educational tools and innovations.
Hosted in collaboration with the Federal Government and the Ministry of Education, this landmark event will gather influential leaders and stakeholders from across Africa and the UK to tackle the critical challenges facing tertiary education on the African continent.
Over 200 senior stakeholders from various sectors, including Vice-Chancellors, Senior Government Officials, Policymakers, industry leaders, funders, influential students, and graduates from both Africa and the UK, amongst others.
British Council is dedicated to promoting a network of education leaders across the continent to enhance knowledge sharing and shape the future of higher education.
For almost two decades, the Going Global conference has provided a strategic platform for international education leaders to network, share knowledge, and shape the future of higher education.
Following the success of the Asia-Pacific edition in 2022 and the UK edition in 2023, this upcoming regional conference will be dedicated to Sub-Saharan Africa, reinforcing the UK’s commitment to supporting education in the region.
