Halos, African EdTech platform, introduces reward-based learning for students, professionals
Hallos, an African EdTech and creator-economy platform, is introducing Morgan Coins, a reward-based learning initiative designed to make knowledge acquisition more engaging and rewarding for students and working professionals through daily interactive quiz games.
The platform is designed to make learning more accessible, engaging and rewarding while helping young Africans develop practical skills relevant to education, employment and entrepreneurship.
Hallos, through its reward currency, Morgan Coins, encourages learners to build knowledge through five-question quiz rounds, peer competitions and consistent daily participation
With a growing community of more than 3,000 learners and 100 creators, Hallos is expanding its reach across tertiary institutions in Nigeria, with plans to extend its operations to other African countries.
How Morgan Coins work
Morgan Coins serve as the platform’s reward currency, creating incentives for learners to participate consistently and improve their knowledge.
Users earn coins by completing daily quiz rounds, maintaining learning streaks, participating in squad tournaments and winning inter-campus quiz competitions.
The coins can subsequently be used to access courses, examination preparation materials and masterclasses available on the platform.
These include Hallos’ eight Edge courses covering Personal Branding, AI Literacy, Agentic AI, Marketing, Public Speaking, Public Relations, Negotiation and Entrepreneurship.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hallos, Alexander Oseji, said the platform was developed to address the need for a more engaging and practical learning experience for Africa’s growing youth population.
“Africa’s young people don’t lack talent. What they lack is a learning system that fits the way they live. Morgan Coins turn five minutes on your phone into a habit that builds knowledge, confidence and income. We want every student on the continent to wake up wanting to play, learn and win,” Oseji said.
As part of its expansion strategy, Hallos is rolling out the Hallos Campus Quiz Cup across Nigerian tertiary institutions, using inter-campus competitions to promote participation, knowledge sharing and healthy academic rivalry.
The company plans to extend its operations to Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Burkina Faso as it pursues its ambition of building a pan-African learning community.
