Those who want President Buhari dead, love corruption- Rev. Iloh

The Presiding Steward of Soul Winning Ministries, Reverend Dr. Moses Iloh has come strong against those spreading false report about President Muhammadu Buhari’s health.

He stated, those who want Buhari dead love corruption.

Dr. Iloh told Espi News in his Yabe, Lagos office recently that since the first day of Buhari’s assumption in office he has made the fight against corruption a priority and those who are benefiting from corruption are taking advantage of his ill health to spread falsehood.

Recalled that sometime in January, Muhammadu Buhari travelled to the United Kingdom on a medical vacation. He was due to return to the country February 6.

However, President Buhari in a letter sent to the National Assembly, ahead of the scheduled date, extended his medical vacation indefinitely on the advice of his doctors, thus fuelling speculations about his state of health.

But, Dr. Iloh said instead of spreading rumours about Buhari’s health Nigerians should continue to pray to God to spear the president’s life so that he can come back and continue his fight against corruption.

“Nigerians should know that corruption is killing the country and Buhari is helping to fight it that is why some people are not happy.”

“Everything in the country is covered by falsehood; the police, the church, the judges, our schools- in our churches there are false prophets everywhere and all manner of decadence which have eaten deep into the fabric of the nation,” he said.

The cleric who turned 87 last Monday, averred that corruption was the country’s major challenge and until it is eradicated the country will continue to revolve in circles.

He said: “Any administration that is determined to fight corruption should be applauded, not those who pay lip service to the fight against corruption, and Buhari has not left us in doubt as to his fight against corruption. My advice therefore, will be that Nigerians should be patient and give him a chance.”

Asked if those who are demonstrating against the administration in view of the present economic slowdown in the country are fair to the government, Iloh said: “The story is, whether you come out or not, everybody knows that there is recession in the land and it should be timely, so that, the message can be appropriately directed.”

At 87, Rev. Iloh who still takes keen interest in the happenings in the land said he is grateful to God to have spared his life.

“I am extremely grateful to God who have spared my life for the past 87 years to pass through this world; through trade unionism, politics, sports and through the gospel and never faulted by God’s grace not because I am smart or educated but by His grace.

“Therefore, I can say positively that God owes me nothing, but I owe Him everything. Every day of my life, He provides for me such that I have enough to share part with somebody who does not have.”

According to him, his pain however, is for his children to experience the Nigeria he was born into.

“I wish my children have the privilege of experiencing the Nigeria I was born into. This is not the Nigeria I was born into; the Nigeria I was born into was not concern about tribe. We didn’t care where one came from or tribal differences because it didn’t matter. The only way we knew where one came from was the tribal mark which didn’t matter to us,” he said.
