SESC plans big for Super Eagles in Egypt 2019

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria prepares to fly the nation’s flag in this year’s Nations Cup in Egypt, the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) said that it is planning to storm the North African country with a strong team of its members to spur the boys to victory.
President of SESC, Prince Vincent Okumagba, said this Friday night, at the club’s maiden Awards and Fund raising ceremony, held at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja.
Okumagba said though the club is two years old, it has been able to touch the lives of its members, and it hopes to transfer that impact on the Supers Eagles to spur them to glory in Egypt 2019.
The colourful event which attracted some of the biggest names in the sports and business world, witnessed the inauguration of its Board of Trustees and announcement of its patrons.
The highlight of the event was the launch of the Super Supporters magazine, an all coloured in-house magazine for the association and the composing of a victory song for the Eagles ahead the African football fiesta in Egypt.
Speaking on the occasion, Prince Vincent Okumagba said: “This is to announce to Nigerians that this group is unique and we will be in Egypt 2019 to support the Super Eagles”.
Continuing, the die-hard football enthusiast noted: “Between N100 million and N150 million will be needed, if we are to take 200 members to Egypt- that is why we are calling on you our friends, who have always been there for us to help us make that dream a reality so we can support our boys to bring the gold shield home”.
Okumagba, who is optimistic that Nigeria will fare better in this year’s tourney considering her Nation’s Cup victory in 2013 which was unable to defend it two years after said, the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) is an offshoot of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club and has been around for two years- in which period has been able to secure 6 plots of land in Maryland for its secretariat through the help of its friends.
He observed that, after the secretariat is completed it will be named after some of the supporters of the club.
Meanwhile, members of the newly inaugurated Board of Trustees includes, Otunba Sola Oladejo (Chairman), Prince Vincent Okumagba, Elder Ologunye Cherubim Folorunsho, Ibeakamma Okechukwu and Dr. Barr. Dagana Johnson.
The club also announced a list people as its patrons. They are: Aliu Balarabe Abubakar (CP), Prince Dr. Akintunde Ayeni, CEO/MD, Yemkem, Hon. Jacob Ajayi Adejumo (House of Reps) and Comrade Oyelekan Lateef Idowu among others.
Some of the awards recipients for the night included, Solomon Dalung, Minister for Sports, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, President, Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Elder Cherubim Folorunsho, oldest member of the club and Chief Kessington Adebutu.
