Ace football pundit and sports enthusiast, Deji Omotoyinbo has said that integrity has been restored to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) since GTI Asset Management and Trust Limited’s involvement as strategic partner to the league and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

Omotoyinbo, who is the host of several sports program, said this during a media parley held Thursday, at the Corporate Headquarters of GTI Asset Management firm in Lagos. The parley had in attendance top sports journalists, sports analysts and management staff of the GTI Group.

According to him, there were instances of constant predictions in the matches in the past, but all that have changed since GTI’s involvement in the league – injecting new life and growth path for the league in particular and the nation’s football at large.

He however called on all stakeholders to join hands with GTI to further move the league forward.

“The league is our own, if we build it well, we will all be beneficiary of it. What GTI has done is heavy lifting by ensuring that the foundation of the league is solid.
“The league has grown to a state where sponsors can come in unlike the state it was about three years ago,” he said.

The asset management firm, GTI, took over sponsorship of the country’s football league in 2022, at a time when the NPFL was almost at its lowest ebb in terms of self-sustenance, and turned the fortunate of the league around.

“The language we have been able to deliver in our promise is the future is here,” said Alhaji Abubakar Lawal, GMD, GTI Group.

Speaking in his closing remark, Lawal said the journey started in 2010 leading to the full glare in 2021 and in 2022 the partnership deal was sealed.

He pointed that the vision his company has for the country’s football is immense hence their commitment to the course.

“We have not only repackaged the NPFL league, we have set the tone going forward,” he insisted.

Lawal added that his group has put or injected much resources into NPFL league hence this redefining, reengineering, repackaged game for the present and for the future, he further declared.

“I want to specifically thank the media for being part of our success story and to let us know that, no foreigner will help us to build Nigeria but us,” he noted.
