Onazi joins Kitchee FC in Hong Kong

Nigerian midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, has joined Hong Kong Premier League side Kitchee FC from Bahrain side, East Riffa, on a free transfer,.

A PUNCH Sports Extra reports noted that the details of the deal were, however, not disclosed by the club.

The 30-year-old joins the Hong Kong Premier League champions, who have won the league a record 12 times, after a brief spell in Bahrain and Italian Serie D side Casertana FC.

In August 2022, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner completed a free transfer to Italian Serie D side Casertana FC, six years after he played for Lazio in the elite Italian Serie A.

Onazi also made 52 appearances for the Super Eagles, scoring once and played a key role in Nigeria’s 2013 AFCON triumph.
