FG takes over another airline
Barely a week since the Federal Government of Nigeria took over operations of Arik Air, the government has taken over another airline, Odengene Air-Shuttle Services (OAS) Helicopters in Lagos following a court order.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that AMCON had on Tuesday sealed OAS Maryland, Lagos office, indicating that the company had been taken over by AMCON.
The order on the company’s office reads: “POSSESSION TAKEN TODAY 14/2/17 BY AMCON COURT ORDER ON SUIT NO. FHC/4CS/1139/2016
It was unclear whether the company was indebted to banks.
However, the company was among the airlines that received the Federal Government intervention fund during the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan.
OAS is one of the leading helicopter charter service companies in the country.
