Economic and brand managers have been advised not to shy away from crisis situation rather to embrace it and see it as a spring board to excel, as every crisis situation create opportunities for great discoveries.
The advice was made by consummate marketing expert and Executive Director at Media Reach OMD, Yinka Adebayo, at The Industry Summit 4.0, held last last Thursday at D’Podium, Ikeja, Lagos.
A data enthusiast, Adebayo who spoke to MediaConsortium in an interview said time and time have shown that crisis situation provides opportunities for potentials to be berth.
“We should learn never to waste a crisis situation because crisis will always be the best platform for good managers to excel. Your ability to showcase your potential is when you are in deep situation. If everything is going on normally everybody will thrive but when the whirlwind is putting everybody aside and one decided to put in the creative cap at the end of the day you see opportunity.
Speaking further he said: “For example, during the lockdown, when everybody went to sleep some people made the money they have never made before. That is a crisis situation, but rather than see the cup half empty they saw it as half full”.
I always tell people when God takes you to the deepest side of the river, the purpose is not to drown one but to clean you up and prepare you but are you opening your eyes to see the opportunity there in is the question?
“There is a popular saying, for you to see you learn to see, what do you see in the crisis situation?” he queried.
