Chiejina, Nn’Emeka bag Brand Journalists Awards

It is said that good work can never stay hidden forever; as time passes, the ‘pillar’ behind it will be revealed.
This can best describe Anthony Chiejina, the silent finger behind the Dangote Brands and Nn’Emeka Maduegbuna, the pillar behind C&F Porter Novelli, a reputation management firm.
Both players in the competitive communications industry, Chiejina and Nn’Emeka among other beneficiaries were rewarded for their contributions to the growth of the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) sector at the 2018 edition of the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) Awards last Friday, November 23,2018, in Lagos.
While Anthony Chiejine emerged Best Communication Manager in the manufacturing sector in Nigeria; Nn’Emeka Maduegbuna bagged the Kennedy Ifebhor Legendary PR Professional in Nigeria.
Amiable, focus driving and with an infectious smile to die for, Chiejine serves as Group Head Corporate Communications, Dangote Group, which is home to many successful brands.
Not one who is loud in anything he does, Tony would prefer the brands he oversees to speak the loudest. Small wonder, before the mention of five vibrant brands in the country, at least one, if not more, within the Dangote Group’s brand portfolio will be mentioned.
An experienced journalist with strong academic bias, Tony graduated from the University of Lagos in 1981 with a B.Sc degree in Mass Communication. He currently holds an M.Sc in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from University of Lagos and a Master’s Degree from University of Lancaster, specialising in Organisational Analysis & Behaviour among other academic qualifications.
Chiejine served as Associate Editor, Deputy Editor and Acting Editor of African Economic Digest, London and African Concord, Lagos. His sojourn in the corporate world started with Seven Up (7up) Bottling Company as Personnel Manager/Editorial Adviser and later he moved up to Zenith Bank, where he served as Head, Corporate Communications.
Like Chiejina, Nn’Emeka Maduegbuna is no small player in the IMC sector. He takes a seat at the Zenith of command in the competitive communication industry where skills are highly required. With over three decades of experience in strategic communications planning, corporate positioning and reputation management, Maduegbuna is a force to reckon with in the PR industry.
He is the Chairman/ CEO C&F porter Novelli a PR firm where many of the best creative works are churned out on a regular basis.
Recognised as one of the leading Public Relations practitioners in the West African sub-region, he continues to lead consulting teams on complex communications programme covering such sectors as energy, oil and gas, financial services, telecommunications among others.
A graduate of Arts and Mass Communications from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1978, Maduegbuna established C&F Porter Novelli in June 1997, after serving in both the public and private sector.
He served as Director, Corporate Services Bureau of Public Enterprises as well as Group Public Affairs Manager, Union securities limited.
