Wrestling icon, Hulk Hogan dies at 71

Wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71.

Hogan, famed for his electrifying charisma and signature shirt-ripping theatrics that helped catapult professional wrestling into mainstream fame, died Thursday morning in Florida.

Emergency responders from Clearwater police and fire departments were dispatched to his residence at 9:51 a.m. following a report of cardiac arrest, officials said.

He was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to a statement from the city.

Born Terry Gene Bollea, he rose to fame through his flamboyant wrestling persona, eventually becoming a household name thanks to roles in numerous films and television shows.
