As Lagos prepares to host the maiden edition of the Mercedes-Benz World PR Beauty Business Week, organizers of the event has said that there are lots of benefits lined up for interested participants.
The Mercedes-Benz World PR Beauty Business Week is a three day beauty fair designed to showcase the fashion and beauty industry. It is slated to hold from May 17 to 19, 2017 at the Mercedes-Benz Showroom in Lekki, Lagos State.
The Chief Executive Officer of World PR Media, organizers of the fair, Tayo Alabi said participants will be exposed not only to the huge opportunities that lie in the beauty and fashion industry but will learn the art of keeping and appreciating the beauty that they carry inside.
She made the statement in a media briefing to herald the Mercedes-Benz World PR Beauty Business Week, last Friday in Lagos.
“The beauty and fashion industry has grown so much that people who knows the business side of it have benefited immensely from it,” Alabi said.
“Many years back, people do their make-up themselves but now, a lot of people run to professionals to have their make-up done which has helped the beauty industry to grow couple with the presence of social media.”
Alabi said that a special focus will be placed on the Shea butter, a key component of the cosmetic industry. She said that Nigeria produce the best Shea butter in the world yet its value is under appreciated by Nigerians.
“Available research shows that Shea butter rakes $6 billion annually worldwide while Nigeria generates about $2 billion from it, yet people from Ghana and other parts of the world come to the country to buy our Shea butter and make billions out of it,” she said.
She however advised interested participants to register online to attend the fair as they will find it worthwhile businesswise and for knowledge purposes.
on his part, Sola Oyebade, the CEO of Mahogany Production and events said the event will educate people on how to make money from the beauty and fashion industry.
“We are in an industry where you can get rich when you get it right. Beauty week is an exciting week to be in, where people network in the latest happenings in the industry.”
