WCRD 2018: Brand Journalists walk for consumers
In commemoration of the World Consumers Rights Day 2018, brand journalists, under the auspices of Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria, BJAN, will stage a walk today, Thursday, March 15, 2018, to sensitize consumers on their rights.
The walk according to the association is to create awareness on the rights of the Nigerian consumers and to join the rest of the world in the celebration.
The Consumers Rights Day is celebrated every March 15, the world over, to create awareness on the rights of the consumers.
According to a statement by BJAN, the walk will kick-off from Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) House, Ikeja by 9am and terminates at Ikeja Shopping Mall, Alausa, Lagos.
BJAN president, Goddy Ofose said, the Nigerian consumers deserve to be aware of their rights even in the face of the several challenges that they grapple with on a daily basis. So, on Thursday, March 15, we will join the international community to sensitize the people on those rights through the walk.
To add colour to the event, Mrs. Sola Salako Ajulo, President/Founder, Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria (CAFON) is expected to give a brief talk at the end of the expedition.
The theme of this year’s WCRD 2018 as announced by Consumers International is ‘Making digital marketplaces fairer’. Building on the success of the 2017 #BetterDigitalWorld campaign, the 2018 campaign will aim to promote digital marketplaces that are more accessible, safer and fairer for consumers across the globe.
