Super Eagles make early qualification for 2019 AFCON
With one match left in the qualification train for next year’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles have qualified for the continental tourney in Cameroon.
The Eagles booked the ticket following a 1-1 draw against South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday afternoon.
The Super Eagles sit atop group E with 10 points and will finish in either first or second spot no matter the result between Bafana Bafana and Libya next March.
South Africa need to hold the Mediterranean Knights, who beat Seychelles 8-1 in Victoria, to at lease a draw if they are to book their place at next year’s showpiece in Cameroon.
