Security summit to stem herdsmen, farmers clashes underway
Ibrahim Idris, Police IGA security summit aimed at stemming the tide of herdsmen and farmers clashes across the country is set to hold this May.
The national security summit will comprise the Inspector General of Police (IG), Ibrahim K. Idris, traditional rulers and other stakeholders across board.
The security summit is coming on the heels of presidential directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to the IG demanding immediate solution to the lingering crisis.
The summit which will hold May 11 and 12, 2017 at International Conference Centre, Abuja, according to Police spokesman, Moshood Jimoh, will see “all stakeholders invited for the national security summit on farmers-pastoralists clashes, kidnapping and other forms of violent crimes in Nigeria, that the summit will be held on.”
Jimoh added: “The IG recognises the concerns which all the stakeholders have registered towards the success of the summit and hereby expresses sincere appreciation and gratitude to the special guest of honour of the summit
