Organisers seek sponsorship for Alimosho/Oshodi-Isolo kids tournament
Organisers of the Alimosho/Oshodi/Isolo Kids Tournament have announced a call for sponsorship for the 2nd edition of the event, scheduled to take place from March 24 to 28, 2025, at the Ejigbo Mini Stadium, Iyana Ejigbo, Lagos.
Rev. Stanley Ihedigbo, Publisher of The Mirror Newspaper, organiser of the event, said the tournament aimed to promote youth development, community engagement, and social values through sports, while addressing pressing issues such as drug abuse, crimes, and human trafficking.
In his words,” The tournament also hopes to continue discouraging our young people from embarking on dangerous journeys overseas, particularly through the desert route, in search of greener pastures.
‘”By using sports as a medium, we want to impart valuable life lessons and skills on the young participants while also providing a fun and engaging environment for them to showcase their talents,” he explained.
Over 200 primary and secondary schools are expected to participate in the tournament, which will feature various sports, including football, table tennis, lawn tennis, track events, kids’ marathons, and Scrabble for males and females.
“By sponsoring the event, organizations will contribute to the growth and development of young people in Nigeria, while promoting their brand values and commitment to community development.
He commended HEDA Resources Centre, PreshFaith Education Centre, Youth Lens, Certified Institute of Sports Management, and individuals who supported their first edition.
