NIMN to hold 2024 marketing conference with theme, “empowering Nigerian brands: leveraging local content for global success”

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) is set to hold its Annual Marketing Conference and AGM in the historic city of Ibadan, Oyo State, June 20 to 22, 2024.
The conference which is the biggest marketing event in the country is with the theme: “Empowering Nigerian Brands: Leveraging Local Content for Global Success”.
Organisers, NIMN, said in a press conference held at its secretariat that this year’s conference is aimed at deepening discussions on the development of indigenous brands and the optimization of local talents for sustainable growth.
Speaking at the briefing, Chairman, Events and Conference, Milagrosa Nana Utomi, said, the conference will feature insightful discourses with industry veterans who will provide guidance on leading sustainable growth on a global scale.
“The entire Nigeria is excited about this conference as it falls on latest trend and innovations we see in the marketing space especially in this particular market, Nigeria.
“The theme, “Empowering Nigerian Brands: Leveraging Local Content for Global Success,” is a very powerful theme that comes at this very crucial time which is required within the Nigeria market space and this event is parked with a whole lot of agenda- which is very disruptive and extremely intriguing as NIMN focusses on bridging the gap between the academia and the marketing profession,” Milagrosa said.
She pointed that, the strategy this year will be a three day event comprising symposium, annual marketing conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM).
On his part, Idorenyen Enang, President and Chairman of the Council noted that, the conference was meticulously curated to address the challenges brands face today noting that, industry experts and seasoned professionals in marketing confirmed to speak at the conference will provide invaluable insights around the theme.
“This year’s conference is unique in the sense that we are making sure we start from home, by being able to bring the national brand, called us as a people to the global stage.
“The theme for last year was focused on SMEs on how to structure and help them drive their businesses. The year before that we dealt on how we could market the nation Nigeria so, coming from the micro we went to the macro and now we are getting into the specifics. The specifics is around empowering the Nigerian brand. That is why we have the keynote speaker an Intellectual Property luminary,” Enang said.
Continuing he noted, “for you to attain global success your IP level must be huge and must be recognized and that is why we have all the stuff around content creation and all”.
“We are introducing something unique this time—practical case studies. Companies will share their experiences of evolving from local brands to achieving global recognition and status. It promises to be a highly interactive and engaging conference”
