MainOne set to upgrade to Tier 4 data center
In order to provide efficient services to its clients, MainOne, West African connectivity and data Solutions Company has indicated its readiness to upgrade to a Tier 4 data center.
Ms. Funke Opeke, Chief Executive Officer of MainOne, said this at the just-concluded 2017 Nigeria ICT Impact CEO Forum & Awards organized by the ICT Watch Network at the Oriental Hotel Lekki, Lagos.
A Tier 4 data center is considered as the most robust data center and is less prone to failures. It is designed to host mission critical servers and computer systems, with fully redundant subsystems (cooling, power, network links, storage etc) and compartmentalized security zones controlled by biometric access controls methods.
Opeke explained that when launched, the Tier 4 data center would help to facilitate the company’s services to its clients adding that everything that was needed to launch it was already in place.
