Not a few people were put aback when the rebranding of Modion Communications to Creato Urban was announced in December of 2025. For many, this writer inclusive, the name Modion Communications had become synonymous with excellence and value delivery especially in the marketing communications space where it had been recognised on some of the world’s biggest stage- winning laurels in the process. As such rebranding it may have not been well thought out.
How was I wrong. The Chief Executive Officer, Odion Aleobua, says the renewed identity reflects expanded capabilities and a bold global outlook for the agency which has been in operation for a decade.
According to him, the transition into Creato Urban follows months of strategic planning, brand realignment, and the development of an expanded creative intelligence framework. The new identity represents the agency’s deepened focus on strategy, storytelling, digital intelligence, reputation and crisis leadership, culture shaping, and brand transformation, a suite designed to meet the evolving needs of African and global brands.
Speaking in a media parley tagged ‘The Ignition’, to celebrate the end-of-year and a new era for the company, held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at its Maryland office, Aleobuah said the new identity is aimed at the next phase of the company’s journey.
“Haven made giant mark on the nation’s PR space there was the need to look towards the global stage and it’s only natural for us to rebrand to meet with that expectation,” Aleobuah pointed.
“Creato Urban signals the path we have been building towards – new, bold, daring, yet deeply strategic. It sharpens our belief in the power of creativity to shift how people think. This transition comes at a time when we are expanding our reach, strengthening our craft, and entering new spaces with audacity and inventive strategies across industries and regions.”
Earlier, journalists were taken on tour the company as part of the activities of the event, to have a feel of where some of the award winning ideas had been incubated and the process they go through.
With some of the team members present that comprises mostly young and agile looking professionals and thinkers, we visited various units with interesting names. like; ‘the Orbit’- the intelligence unit of the company; the Encore, where core management decision are taken and ‘Momentum’, among others. Aleobuah said to achieve the future of their dream, it was important to create the environment that will make the dream a success.
