Baba Aladura calls for fresh approach to great commission, intentional revival messaging
His Most Eminence, Baba Aladura and Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide, Elder Dr. David D.L. Bob – Manuel, has called for a fresh approach to the Great Commission and a focused revival service message throughout the Holy Order. This comes as the church embarks on its next century, which officially began on September 9, 2025.
Elder Dr. David D.L. Bob – Manuel shared these insights during the third edition of the ESOCS national strategic retreat, aimed at the managers of provinces, CMCs, and various church organs of the church.
The retreat served as a platform for church leaders and administrators to brainstorm effective strategies for uplifting the spiritual lives of church members and making a positive impact in the broader ecumenical community, all while navigating the challenges posed by modern technological tools, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), without compromising the church’s core values.
This particular retreat is especially significant, following the centenary celebration on September 9, which marked 100 years of the church’s enduring presence and growth.
Baba Aladura said its shall be an intensified vision of the Holy Order in the new dispensation to deploy the knowledge of technology to better the heritage, “Our fathers bequeathed to us instead of losing them. We are here today by the power of the Holy Ghost to think out ideas that will seamlessly enable us to be His witness in the era, looking toward a great revival that will sweep across the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in all the street of the world like a hurricane wind, which shall not be a mere religious outing.”
He added:
“With Christ as our foundation and chief cornerstone, the new dawn shall witness a great revival like in the days of the founding father and as recorded in Act of Apostle 2, but we must be in one accord, in the right frame and atmosphere of the indwelling Holy Spirit being in charge, confessing our sins one to another and retracing our steps from those things that divide us. Preaching the gospel or evangelism in this new dispensation must go beyond rhetorics and must be compulsory for every ESOCS member. It is important, as it is a command, ‘Go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature,’ Mark 16:15, ‘And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him and that he might send them forth to preach.’ These are the words of our saviour Jesus Christ from where our founder drew the object for which the church was established. We shall be deliberate in pursuing the course.”
His Eminence further encouraged the managers and administrators at the retreat to embrace their mission and don their armor of evangelism, urging them to step out into the world and share the gospel.
He emphasized that it’s not just about speaking the words, from Genesis to Revelation, but also about ensuring their actions reflect the teachings they promote and maintain a mindset befitting a true preacher of the gospel of Christ.
It’s worth noting that the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide celebrated its centenary on September 9, 2025, marking a hundred years of the church with a series of uplifting events.
