
Checkers Custard wins MediaConsortium Most Innovative Consumer Brand Award

Fast moving consumer brand, Checkers Custard, has emerged the Most Innovative Consumer Brand (Product Innovation) at the 4th edition of Mediaconsortium Conference and Awards.
The leading pudding brand was announced winner in recognition of its product line extension, packaging innovation, and addressing unmet consumer convenience needs, at the 2026 MediaConsortium event, held on Friday, September 18, 2026 in Ikeja, Lagos.
The brand disrupted a traditionally basic commodity market by introducing diverse SKU sizes (sachets to large tubs) and multi-in-one variants like the Checkers Custard Milk 3-in-1 and other variant consistently meeting the ever-changing needs of consumers, conveniently.
Since its introduction into the Nigeria’s FMCG market more than four years ago, managers of the Checkers Custard brand have innovatively and consistently created ways to meet the needs of the consumers.
By introducing divers SKU sizes and multi-in-one variants of the Checkers Custard products like the Vanilla, Banana, the Milk 3-in-1 which contains Vitamins A and B, high-quality sugar and high-quality milk, the brand not only continue to win various followership of consumers to its side but also meet consumers delight and sending strong message that it is a listening brand.
Speaking during his opening remark, Godwin Anyebe, Co-Publisher of MediaConsortium Magazine said the award presentation formed a major highlight of the annual event, which convened corporate leaders, policymakers, media executives, and brand handlers, around the central theme: “The Value Shift: Strategies for the New Market Reality in the Age of the Empowered Consumer.”
According to him, the conference was designed to address structural market shifts and celebrate pioneers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and adaptability across sectors.
“Today, information accessibility, digital connectivity, and heightened economic consciousness have flipped the historic model,” Anyebe stated.
