
5th Cycling Lagos: Aquafina, Golden Penny Foods, Adron Homes join support train
Aquafina, the premium bottled water brand from the stable of Seven-Up Bottling Company (SBC), has announced its support for the 5th Cycling Lagos, alongside Adron Homes, Golden Penny Foods and other leading brands.
The event scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos is aimed at promoting cycling, healthy living, road safety, environmental sustainability and youth participation in sports.
The partnership will see Aquafina provide hydration support for cyclists and other participants at strategic points during the event, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to healthy living, active lifestyles and community-focused initiatives. The brand is also providing financial support towards the successful staging of the event.
Marketing Manager, Energy & Hydration, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Omokehinde Thomas, confirmed that the brand will establish hydration points at the starting and finishing areas, as well as along designated sections of the cycling route, including the Coastal Road, where participants will have access to Aquafina water throughout the event.
Meanwhile, Checkers Custard, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and AIICO Multishield, have also confirmed their support for the 5th Cycling Lagos, adding momentum to what promises to be one of the major cycling and lifestyle events in Lagos in 2026.
Speaking on the growing support for the event, President/CEO of Cycling Africa Limited, Bamidele Adeleye, said the increasing participation of leading brands demonstrates the private sector’s growing recognition of cycling as a powerful platform for promoting wellness, sustainable transportation, environmental responsibility and meaningful brand engagement.

The 2026 edition is themed “TRASH TO TREASURE: Unlocking Recycling Capacity for a Sustainable Future,” reflecting the organisers’ commitment to using cycling as a platform to promote environmental consciousness and encourage Nigerians to see waste not merely as a nuisance, but as a valuable resource capable of creating economic opportunities.
The grand finale of the event will feature various categories, including the Children’s Race, Celebrity Race and competitive cycling activities. Cyclists are expected to ride through designated routes across Lagos before returning to the National Stadium, Surulere.
The 5th Cycling Lagos is expected to attract cyclists, cycling clubs, sports enthusiasts, families and other participants from Lagos and different parts of Nigeria, further strengthening the culture of cycling and highlighting its potential as a healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable means of mobility.
