Uber announces exit from Nigeria
Global ride-hailing company, Uber, has announced it’s exit from Nigeria after 12 years of operation.
According to The Cable, the company said in a statement that it’s exit from is effective September 2.
Although, it’s help centre will be available until September 23 to assist customers with any final account queries.
The firm’s operations have faced challenges in Nigeria, with drivers protesting fares, commission rates, and poor treatment in 2017, 2023, and 2025.
Uber’s exit in Nigeria is the latest following the exit from 14 countries across Asia and Africa since its launch in 2009.
